Just a heads up:
Google Translate or other online translators are not permissible resources The translations are almost always wrong. Some languages are better than others, but people aren't asking google about Latin as much as other languages, so the computer doesn't get much practice. It'll be wrong - so you won't get points for it. Important: If I see you have used an online translator, I'll stop grading the activity and give you a 0 - no make ups. Ways that I know you used an online translator
Mr. Bertram Go to this assignment on Microsoft Teams. Read the Gospel for Mass of the Lord's Supper on Holy Thursday (John 13:1-15) , then answer the reading comprehension questions. You'll find links to the reading and to a video of me reading it to you in the Assignment (and here) Hey guys, we have a quiz on Quizizz today over Ch 6 Vocab. The weekly outline says everyone has to log in at 11:00 am, but I've since found out that I can assign it to be done on your own time! so make sure you finish it by 11:45 tonight.
You'll find the link to our Quizizz on Microsoft Teams. Looking forward to adding those prepositions! On teams, you will find a forms based activity to practice using some of our new Vocabulary.
We will have a Quizziz game (a game like Quiz grade, that is) on Wednesday. After we have familiarized ourselves with the nouns, verbs, and adjectives in Chapter 6, we can start the plethora of prepositions in chapter 6 and get down to business reading our book! Hey y'all,
Make sure to check for any missing work and turn it in today. I'll start posting last week's grades on Achieve tonight. Message me on teams if you need help! Mr. Bertram Holy Week
Hey Jr. High, What a crazy Lent we’ve had! Easter is quickly coming down the pipe, and Holy Week starts this Sunday, April 5 with Palm Sunday. In commemoration of this Holy time of year, and in Solidarity with all the members of our community let’s all celebrate Palm Sunday together! (From at least 6’ apart) Read the Gospel for Palm Sunday: Matthew 21:1-11 Then make something that represents the story of Palm Sunday for you, and place it somewhere visible from outside. You could make:
Then, send us a picture, and briefly explain how it represents Palm Sunday
You may choose between three options:
This video is about the centuries old tradition of Semana Santa processions in Seville, Spain. Watch the video, then use the worksheet in this lesson on Teams to write a paragraph comparing and contrasting their Holy Week traditions with our own in America. *You'll notice that many of them are wearing costumes that look similar to that of racist organizations. The video addresses what these costumes are, that they are centuries older than that organization and its costumes, and that the costumes actually mean exactly the opposite of what the racist organization has in mind. There is a worksheet posted on teams with Vocabulary related questions and 4 brief sentences to translate. You may use the Chapter 6 vocabulary and all other resources posted on Weebly, as well as any resources in your Latin binder.
